since my only boy is just 3 years old,
this request for a monster truck party was
a little out of my comfort zone.
but after doing a little searching for ideas on
pinterest and google images,
i pulled together something that
the birthday boy was pretty happy with!
long and skinny invite
banner
coordinating party goods
favor tags
{i created a wheel cutout to replace the traditional
scalloped backing}
favor bag toppers
{the client had this great idea to give out toothbrushes &
toothpaste along with a massive amount of candy!}
cupcake toppers
{used the wheel cutouts again}
signs for games,
food table
and favors
i loved the checkered pattern & wheels
featured in this party!
{it is available by custom order in my etsy shop}
i never posted pictures from my sister's baby shower!!
now "baby owen" is 9 month old
amelia!
{once again, my photography skills are really lacking}
i shared the invite awhile back
but i just didn't get the shower pictures up!
we hosted the shower at our family's thanksgiving.
we have a huge family (my dad has 11 siblings!)
so we celebrate in a knights of columbus hall
in the small town he grew up in.
decorating was a bit of a challenge since this is
what usually takes place in the hall.
............
my sister is obsessed with gardening...
like made need an intervention
{backdrop is made from square paper plates with squares of paper}
so we thought a garden shower was perfect!
we carried the theme throughout the desserts:
chocolate cupcakes with crushed oreo dirt
and tiny candy veggies
lettuce cake balls
pie pops
{super easy with pillsbury pie crust & homemade jam}
they are standing in a bottle drying rack!
toadstool cupcakes
chocolate stuffed raspberries
{berry baskets from shop sweet lulu}
we also threw in some cute birds
these are desserts in a jar which were a big hit! |
mini pies
my mom made these and could not understand
what was wrong with one big pie!
but how cute are they?!

...........
with so many people to seat,
we have large folding tables and folding chairs.
to spruce things up without spending a fortune,
i bought lots of burlap and cut runners for the tables
my aunts had already gotten fall fabric
for tablecloths so it all worked nicely together.
centerpiece
candles in veggies
i had seen a tutorial for how to make these billy button flowers,
but it did not go well.
i went back to hobby lobby to get more
wool roving and they actually had these felt balls in
the perfect colors!
all the relatives added their fingerprints to a tree
mommy and daddy making their fingerprint birds
{sisters}
my two sisters becca (the baker) and cathy (co artist)
did just as much work on this party.
i think it turned out to be fun and original.
check out my pinterest board to see the inspiration
for so much of this party!
