april fools

last year was my mom's 60th birthday.
since we ended up picking april 1st for her party,
we thought april fools would be a perfect party theme.
my sister and i found lots of fun april fools food ideas online.
{you can see all the original links
and even more fun ideas on
 "watermelon"
rice krispie treat
 "sushi"
rice krispie treat, fruit by the foot, gummy worms
 "grilled cheese"
pound cake with yellow/orange frosting-
actually "grilled" in frying pan
 "burgers"
nilla waffers, frosting {ketchup/mustard},
coconut {dyed green}, thin mint cookie
"chicken nuggets & french fries"
pound cake covered in frosting then rolled in crushed graham crackers
bread sticks rolled in sugar
 "ketchup"
strawberry jam
"popcorn"
chocolate covered marshmallow pops
since spring was so early last year,
we were able to decorate with daffodils
from my yard placed in vintage cans.
{this year the daffodils haven't even
started to poke through the ground!!}

  1. These are super fun! Monday is the first day of our spring break--maybe my kids would like to get in on the fun for a fools dinner for dad :)

  4. Super cute theme! I would love to go to a party like this on April Fool's Day!

Also, super random, by my mother-in-law's maiden name is your mother's last name, except without the "E" after the "K."
