kentucky derby party

last year my neighbor was planning her

son's first communion party

and she realized it was the same day as the kentucky derby.

so they decided to make the celebration derby themed.

we did a formal communion invite but added this fun insert

to prepare guests for what was to come after the holy day.

 i made a variety of cupcake toppers with

yellow dot, blue "seersucker"

and brown "leather" paper

  some toppers had horses, some crosses and these (my favorite) had

a collage of the horses who were racing.

 i also made a banner using the same papers
